Introduction

Ziqiang College of Tsinghua University was established in May 2025, with "Future and Smart Energy" as its core. The college upholds the principles of energy-centered, a solid grounding in physics and chemistry, and data-driven intelligence enhancement, dedicated to cultivating future leaders in energy innovation and revolution. Its graduates will possess both national and global vision, a broad engineering foundation in mathematics, physics, and intellectual science, scientific thinking competence in materials science, as well as strategic foresight.

The college implements a multidisciplinary collaborative education mechanism, integrating high-quality faculties from departments/schools across the university related to "energy," "information technology," and "intelligent technology". It breaks down traditional barriers among departments/schools and customizes personalized curriculum ("one student, one plan"). The College Management Center provides comprehensive services, supports students in both academic and daily lives, offers precise guidance and fully supports their diverse development.

The college implements a three-stage cultivation system of "Foundations - Frontiers - Practice," providing full-process training and an integrated general-and-specialized education. General mathematics and physics courses solidify students' foundational knowledge, interdisciplinary energy courses clusters connect them with cutting-edge technological developments and platforms are built for university-industry and international collaboration with 16 major application scenarios, forming a dual-track practice chain of "industry-education integration+ international engagement."

Ziqiang College innovatively constructs a "AI+" new engineering education system, implementing an "N+4" major exit mode. This model deeply integrates six emerging interdisciplinary engineering directions in energy with four energy-related engineering majors. The college offers interdisciplinary engineering degrees focusing on strategic fields such as Smart Grid, Smart power, Energy Materials, Energy Storage, and Hydrogen Energy, while simultaneously retaining classical engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering as well as Energy and Power Engineering. This approach grants students autonomy in their academic development, broadens their career prospects, and serves major national strategic needs.

The college encourages and supports students to gain an in-depth understanding of industry frontiers by actively organized distinctive career practice programs. Immersive practical training is conducted at research and development institutions of leading large-scale enterprises or top-tier academic and scientific research institutions both domestically and internationally.
